The traction resistance disappears from 35 days after implantation. The Vicryl

threads intended for coaptation and/or ligation of soft tissues in general,
including in ophtalmology, in peripheral nervous anastomosis and in vascular
microsurgery on vessels with a diameter inferior to 2 mm. There are no
sufficient data about the security and efficiency of Vicryl threads in
cardiovascular surgery.
Contraindicated in coaptation of areas susceptible to undergo important
traction.
